He isn’t just an artist; he’s a crusader for change within the realm of African hip-hop and due to his resilience as a rapper, song writer, record producer and entrepreneur, has penetrated the East and West African hip hop circles.
Judas released the lyrical statement ‘Who’s King?’, a song that evidences Da Akbar’s bold and outspoken persona, a wake-up call to rehash Ugandan hip-hop, urging rappers to get out of their comfort zone and put in deliberative effort. The song calls upon rappers to retrace their steps and rediscover their creative potential in a state where there’s a recognisable lag. Drawing from his own experiences and observations, Judas, the CEO Soulz of Afrika, fearlessly addresses the stagnation that has plagued the scene for far too long. Gone are the days of deliberate effort, dedication and discipline, replaced by a culture of complacency and mediocrity.
