More Than a Gallery

Located on Kenneth Dale Drive, Plot 58 in Kamwokya, Xenson Art Space is a multidisciplinary creative space founded in 2019 by Ugandan multidisciplinary artist Xenson. Its mission is centred on nurturing artists and providing opportunities for creatives to exhibit, showcase their work, engage in dialogue and build networks that can contribute to their social and economic empowerment.

The space has become a platform for exhibitions, workshops, art talks, live performances, film screenings, fashion pop-ups and other creative programmes.

Its work is built around the idea that art should not exist in isolation from society.

Through its “Living Library” programme, for example, Xenson Art Space connects younger creatives with established artists, collectors and art enthusiasts, creating opportunities for knowledge and experience to flow between generations.

Over the years, Xenson Art Space has hosted a range of exhibitions exploring identity, culture, gender, society and contemporary life. Its 2026 programme has included exhibitions such as Embracing Her Essence Edition 2, Native in a New World and, more recently, Maaso Awo showcasing diverse voices and artistic perspectives.
