The victory sealed a 4-3 finals series win for the Blazers and secured their second consecutive NBL title, confirming that their 2025 championship triumph was no one-season wonder.

How Game Seven Went:

City Oilers started strongly and led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter, but the Blazers worked their way back into the contest. Neither side could create enough separation during regulation, and the game eventually reached its most dramatic moment with the scores locked at 66-66.

Oilers forward Landry Ndikumana converted two crucial free throws to force overtime, but the Blazers outscored the Oilers 15-8 in overtime to close out the game 81-74 and send the defending champions jubilating.

The night belonged to Nyembo Fataki, who delivered a 35-point performance on 13-for-21 shooting and was named Finals MVP. Jimmy Enabu and Anthony Chukwurah added 12 points each to support the Blazers’ title-winning effort.

For City Oilers, Patrick Rembert scored 27 points, while Fayed Bbaale and Ndikumana contributed 14 and 10 points respectively, but the former champions could not find enough footing against the Blazer’s defensive effort in overtime.

How the series went:

City Oilers, the unstoppable force in Ugandan basketball for more than a decade, entered the series determined to reclaim the championship they lost to the Blazers in 2025.

The series swung from one side to the other The Blazers twice found themselves trailing, first 2-1 and later 3-2, but refused to surrender. They came back twice to overturn the deficit and force the championship into a decisive seventh match.

After two consecutive championships against the old giant, the Blazers can now look beyond ending an era.
