Ugandan rapper Stayput has released the official visualizer for his single Kwen Abor.
The song is Stayput’s first single of the year, following his previous releases and projects that have established him as one of the artists representing Uganda’s multilingual hip-hop culture.
Known for rapping in both English and Langi, Stayput has developed a style that connects his Northern Ugandan background with the wider sound of contemporary Ugandan hip-hop. His ability to move between languages makes his music carry a distinctly local identity while remaining accessible to audiences beyond his immediate cultural setting. With Kwen Abor, the rapper continues to build on that identity. He chastises nay sayers and gloats over the feeble minded who tried to sabotage his success
Released on August 8, the visualizer adds a new visual dimension to the rapper’s distinctive lyrical delivery with atmospheric imagery.
Kwen Abor was produced by Phill Trey, while Nase Avatar did the mixing and mastering at Portbell Drive Studios. The video was created by Emmagy.
