In the annals of Uganda’s dynamic hip-hop scene, a groundbreaking project emerged four years ago that set the stage on fire and left an indelible mark on the genre. “UG’s Most Wanted Chapter 1,” a captivating cipher freestyle featuring some of the country’s most talented artists, is a marker of the raw talent and creative brilliance brewing in the heart of Uganda.
Headlined by the illustrious Byg Ben Sukuya, the lineup boasts an impressive array of creatives, with Tushi Polo kicking off the cypher in electrifying fashion. As the sole female rapper on the track, Tushi Polo showcases her prowess by effortlessly blending English and Luganda, setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable ride.
Next up is Tucker HD, a seasoned emcee whose flexible delivery and sharp lyricism captivate listeners from the get-go. His presence on the mic is a reminder behind the years of dedication and hard work, solidifying his status as one of Uganda’s most respected artists since Airport Taxi
J-Wats follows suit, bringing his signature style and undeniable charisma to the forefront. With each verse, J-Wats proves why he’s considered a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop community, effortlessly weaving together proverbial rhymes and clever wordplay.
Play 01 injects the cypher with his infectious flow and undeniable presence, leaving listeners on the edge of their seats with every bar. His unique blend of swagger and substance is a subject to the diversity and dynamism of Uganda’s hip-hop scene.
And finally, Byg Ben takes center stage, rapping in his native Lugisu and English with equal parts passion and precision. Byg Ben Sukuya is a rapper and performer from Mbale Eastern Uganda in the Bagisu Bantu speaking tribe, known for his versatility and incredible twist of his local language Lumasaba and English for a cut-out flow.
Behind the scenes, the visionary minds of Babana Basha collaborated with Talent Africa to bring this project to fruition. With production by the talented Josh SB and mixing and mastering by the renowned Sam Lamara of Talent Africa, every aspect of “UG’s Most Wanted Chapter 1” is meticulously crafted for maximum impact.
