The countdown to the 15th HiPipo Music Awards has begun, with the landmark edition scheduled to take place on November 13, 2026, at Kampala Serena Hotel from 5pm. Held under the theme ‘We Vibe With The Best’, this year’s awards will celebrate outstanding talent and achievement across Uganda’s music industry and beyond.
About the event:
The event brings together artists, music industry professionals, digital creators, fans and other stakeholders for one of the major celebrations for Uganda’s entertainment industry. They provide a platform for recognising both established and emerging talent while expanding their reach to include regional, continental and diaspora-based artists.
Nominations:
Public nominations started on 17th August and will run to September 6, 2026, with several music fans, artists and industry stakeholders already submitting their choices across the different award categories through the HiPipo nomination platform. Following the close of nominations, the nominees will be announced before the voting process begins, leading up to the grand finale in November.
This year’s edition will feature 15 award categories across different areas of music and entertainment. Some of the key categories include:
- Artist of the Year
- Best Male Artist
- Best Female Artist
- Song of the Year
- Video of the Year
- Breakthrough Artist
- Best Gospel/Inspirational Act
- Best Diaspora Act
- Best New Media/Digital Creator in Music
- Regional, East African and Continental African categories, including East Africa Best Artist and Africa Number One
- The Best Gospel/Inspirational Act and Best Diaspora Act categories return this year, while Best New Media/Digital Creator in Music joins the awards as a newly introduced category.
